My opinion on the Xbox Series S!

Sometimes mocked, sometimes criticized, this Xbox Series S is the target of video game journalists and gaming influencers! Is she so weak? Will it be a handicap for the Xbox Series X? Here is my opinion on the Xbox Series S

The least we can say is that this Xbox Series S has been smashed by video game journalists and gaming influencers. It will have a very fast Amd Ryzen Zen 2 processor (spoiler alert, the CPU of the Xbox Series S is faster than that of the PS5, but shhh I didn't say anything). In short, this new very fast CPU literally explodes the aging Jaguar CPU of the XBox One but also that of the PS4. This CPU will likely help the Xbox Series S in gaming mode.

Then let's evoke the memory of Ram. Yes, it only has 10 GB of RAM compared to 16 GB for the Xbox Series For those who say yes but the Xbox One

An SSD of only 512 GB?

Yes, it’s half as much storage as the next Xbox Series X! But let's not forget that the Xbox Series S targets 1440p and not 4K. The games will therefore be much smaller than on Xbox Series X. For people who store their games, we can extend the storage on Xbox Series S and X.

It doesn't have an optical drive!

Yes, as with the PS5 Digital Edition, the Xbox Series S does not have an optical drive! It's annoying, we won't be able to buy second-hand games and you'll have to go through the Xbox Store to buy these games. On the other hand, the big difference with the Playstation is that the Series S will have the gargantuan catalog of video games from Xbox Game Pass. Clearly for €10 per month, one life will not be enough to complete all the games in this subscription!

The Xbox Series S at a low price!

That’s cool! The price of this Xbox Series S was a good surprise for me! For only €300 you will be able to enjoy the next generations of video games in 1440p resolution and up to 120 FPS for some of them! This is something to take into account!

My opinion on the Xbox Series S!

On paper, this Xbox Series S is much less powerful than the PS5 and Xbox Series X! It’s True! On the other hand, the Xbox Series S is not aimed at the tech-savvy gamer who only swears by 4k video games! It targets gamers who play in 1440p and believe me there are many of them! With the Xbox Series S we will be able to play the next AAA in 1440p up to sometimes 120 frames per second! So she’s not that disappointed!

Then frankly at €300 I think this Xbox Series S could be worth the detour! Coupled with an Xbox Game Pass subscription, this Xbox Series S will undoubtedly have its place in a teenager's bedroom but it can also be used as an extra console 🙂

For me this Xbox Series S is an interesting little Xbox which will perhaps find its audience if the games run correctly on it. Early feedback looks good on Watch Dogs Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. We will see with time 🙂
