My preview of Watch Dogs Legion!

During Paris Games Week 2019, I attended a presentation of one of Ubisoft's next big games! Here is my preview of Watch Dogs Legion!

I had the chance to participate in a presentation, lasting around twenty minutes, of the nextWatch Dogs Legion, during PGW 2019. To show the potential of this next Ubisoft game, this demonstration revealed gameplay and only gameplay and that was really cool.

God Save The Queen!

Xbox One pad in hand, one of the developers of Watch Dogs Legion, launched the demo of the game. The plot of WD Legion takes place in a futuristic London where multiple political crises have caused great damage in the city.  The developer took control of a member of DedSec looking for a next recruit in a typical London Pub. After scanning all of the pub's customers, we asked the developer to recruit one of the Londoners present in this establishment. In order to convince this character to join DedSec, we offered to erase compromising evidence that the London Police had.

The new features “are legion” in this new Watch Dogs.  NPCs are randomly generated. The characters in our game will therefore not be the same as the characters in other players' games. To top it off, Watch Dogs Legion informs that it will be possible to recruit any NPC from London, for our DedSec team.   Like GTA or Red Dead Redemption, we will also have to pay attention to the consequences of our bad actions. For example, if we accidentally kill a Londoner, it is possible that members of the deceased's family will come after you. Regarding the character you control, you will have to choose them according to their skills (spy, hacker, heavy weapons specialist). It will also be necessary to understand that our character could be killed at any time and that it will not be possible to recover him. Nice little option, during a complicated confrontation we will be offered to go to the police or to fight until possible death! It's up to us!

But back to the demonstration. The game developer therefore drove to the London Police station, and I was able to realize that this new Watch Dogs Legion is really superb graphically. Of course it was an alpha version running on PC but really the city of London is teeming with life and it is superbly well modeled. The game was also very fluid whatever the situation (on foot, while driving a car or a motorcycle, in the gun fight phase) it looks very good on a technical level. The character responsible for infiltrating the police station was an elderly lady but beware of appearances because she was very good at infiltration. In the police station, she deactivated the security gate, manipulated cameras, and thanks to her spider robot she neutralized officers from the police station. She then retrieved the compromising data from the police station's secure server. The following missions were more classic but it was still very nice to see some gameplay of this new Watch Dogs Legion, especially since it seems to be as fun as Watch Dogs 2!

My review of Watch Dogs Legion

Clearly thisWatch Dogs Legionseems to be on the right track! It is technically impressive, fun to play, it has many original new features (randomly generated NPCs, possibility of recruiting anyone, risk of permanent death of the character, rpg mode). This new Watch Dogs also doesn't forget its DNA as an open world action adventure game with a hacking twist! It's very likely that we'll have a great time playing this WD Legion, I can't wait to play it and god save the Queen :)
